Time for a Mutiny

It’s hard to get motivated to do anything now that the sombrous prospect of war is hanging over us like a house-sized piece of concrete held in place only by a slowly disintegrating string.  World War III was my fear when Trump strode on stage through the fog at the Republican National Convention like an evil specter.  My fear increased when he somehow gathered followers despite his lies and corruption.  After three years of dread, here we are.

The stress of absorbing outrage after outrage during his tenure has taken a toll on me personally, and I believe on the nation.  It was hard to keep up with the awful news every day created by either his deplorable actions or his deplorable, inflammatory tweets, all of which were designed to distract from his previous day’s misdeeds.  My head has been spinning from riding out this roller coaster cycle of news trying to wait his presidency out, hoping and praying that no major conflagration would occur.  I had hoped that our Congressional leaders would protect us from his impulses and criminality.  However, the Republicans shed their personal integrity, common sense, and virtually their own minds, and shirked their responsibility to be a check on this undisciplined man.  They followed, and still follow, him blindly – much like the three monkeys, seeing no evil, hearing no evil, and speaking no evil, despite the fact that the person they are following is a narcissist, only caring about himself.  He is entirely immoral, self-serving, egotistic, and lawless.  Instead of honoring their oath to the people, to the constitution, to the law, and to truth and justice, they lie for him, make excuses for  him, and are willing to break the law for him, just so they can remain in power or, perhaps, so he will not reveal something scandalous about them personally.  So now we have arrived at the precipice of war, the only purpose of which is to distract, delay, or completely negate the possibility of an impeachment trial in the Senate.  How many lives will this cost?

I am sick about it and wonder if it is worth doing anything at all anymore.  Perhaps everyone should just try and enjoy the time they’ve got left and take a nice vacation.  Who knows where and when bombs may drop.  It might not happen right away.  It took three years to get here, but it sure looks like the path we are on is leading to war.

The only thing we can really do is rise up against him and remove him from office.  I think it’s time for a mutiny.  It would take a lot of organization.  I’m wondering if we’re up to the challenge.
