At long last, I have written “The End” on the last page of Immortal Island. The paperback is now available for purchase on Amazon.
Immortal Island is the shortest novel I have written but it took the longest to write. The story evolved to be completely different than the one I had in my head when I originally sat down to write it in 2015. I have to relearn how to work with my website to provide more information about the story, so, until I am up to speed with WordPress, all I can do is supply the summary for Immortal Island in this post.
“Meredith Roderick, an American in 1992, and Maria Rodriguez-Flores, a Honduran in 2019, both leave their homes in search of better lives. Meredith, drowning in the depths of depression leaves her home to forget her sorrows and transform herself in another country. After struggling to survive in Honduras, Maria leaves with her family to emigrate to the United States. Maria experiences terror and misery on the way but relies on her faith and receives miraculous help in her search for a new home. Meredith is swept up into the mystique of Obeah in Jamaica, where her spirit awaits the opportunity to fulfill her promise to her parents to return home.”
