On this rather gloomy, grey, sporadically rainy day, a young red tailed hawk perched itself on our gutter right outside of our great room looking for a bite to eat. I recalled finding out when researching The Spirit of Troy that red tailed hawks symbolize a connection to the spirit world and seeing what others may be unable to see because of their keen vision. Watching this hawk today, I would also add they are a great example of patience as this hawk stayed in his position on the gutter for over a half hour straight, then flew off to the peak of a house behind our house where he sat hunting for a full hour in the rain.
